background
Over 20 years I gained valuable experience and insight in sustainability management and research.
I have a broad track record that encompasses engagements in companies, NGOs, foundations and management consulting.
Focus and passion of my work lie on
-
strategic corporate sustainability
-
sustainable agricultural supply and food systems
-
rural and agricultural development
-
inclusive business solutions
-
poverty alleviation
-
the regeneration of ecosystems
Especially when these areas are linked, and complex issues need to be solved, my ability to combine highly strategic thinking with in-dept technical skills prove to be the right asset. I am always curious to discover more, have a determination for change, and would consider myself to be a “niche pioneer”.

My extensive knowledge of the different stakeholders, as well as field experience in various cultural contexts and fluency in several languages help me to get the perspectives right, and ultimately be able to focus pragmatically on content and outcomes.

I have an Economics and Sustainability background with a PhD from the University of Zurich, for which I spent 1.5 years at the Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Centre (CATIE) in Turrialba, Costa Rica. The emphasis of my studies was on strategic sustainability management, sustainable sourcing, business in developing countries, market-based poverty alleviation, and rural development. In the recent years, I continued with education programs in permaculture, regenerative agriculture & supply, nature-based garden and landscape design as well as field ornithology.

I am on the boards of Clarmondial, the Pakka Foundation, the Lindt Cocoa Foundation and the local Bird and Nature Conservation Association NAVOS, as well as Senior Advisor at Outlive Advisory and an Associated Expert of Endeva. I have a large network of trusted partners I can collaborate with whenever necessary.
